About

All educators are driven by a desire to provide quality learning opportunities for their students. However, when asked to provide online learning for distance, blended or hybrid courses, many teachers become frustrated or disheartened because their experience and training have not prepared them to teach in this way. Teachers are always concerned for their students' wellbeing and opportunities for success. Unfortunately, poorly designed online learning can lead to negative student experiences, poor outcomes, dissatisfaction and withdrawal.

Andrew Doig founded Learning Design Solutions with a team of experts he has worked with throughout his years in Higher Education and in online and distance education course development in order to help educators make better online learning for their students. A career-long educator himself, as a teacher, Associate Professor, academic developer, learning designer and manager of online course development, Andrew has an abiding concern for quality of teaching and learning. He has more than 15 years’ experience of working with academics to develop online distance and blended learning.  His insights into the practical needs of teachers in a variety of contexts drives the approach of Learning Design Solutions so that we can remove teachers’ frustrations with online, and give them a great enthusiasm for this dynamic, exciting and fulfilling way of teaching and learning.
